Letterman is set for his first show with Letterman’s longtime co-anchor and longtime collaborator Larry Wilmore on NBC’s The Late Night with David Lettermann, which will air at 9 p.m.
ET on Sunday.
Lettermans show has aired on the CW since April, and Letterman has also starred in episodes of the show on Showtime and Netflix.
Lettermen first show aired on HBO in 2011, and he has hosted his own show since 2013.
The show is expected to air on Letterman, Wilmore and Comedy Central on Monday.
The first show on Lettermans HBO show, which has been dubbed “The Late Show With David Lettermens,” will air on NBC from 9 p,m.
to midnight on Sunday, the network said.
“David Letterman and Larry Wilms’ comedy-driven and unique series will have the opportunity to redefine the TV comedy landscape,” NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt said in a statement.
“With his iconic brand and signature comedic flair, David Letterms first comedy show, The Late Late Show with David Brinkley, is a landmark in the modern era.”
Wilmore has hosted The Late Shift for the past three seasons and has also hosted Late Night on CBS.
Wilmore, who is a member of the Letterman family, is also an executive producer on the upcoming Comedy Central series The Late Crowd.
The two were the first two comedians to appear on The Late Spot in the 1960s and the first pair of comedians to host Letterman in 1997.
“I’ve been a huge fan of David Lettermer for years and this is an amazing opportunity for us to be able to put him back on television and let him be the most influential comedy icon that ever lived,” Wilmore said in the statement.
Lettermann has a history with Wilmore that goes back to when Wilmore was just a freshman at USC.
Wilmets freshman year of high school featured Wilmore performing at Lettermans high school prom.
“It’s just been amazing,” Wilmett said in 2013, recalling their relationship.
“When we were kids, he was always telling me stories about him, and how I was the only black kid he ever knew.”
Wilmitte said he always wanted to be a writer, but never had the opportunity.
He said he was a huge Letterman fan until he was 14, and eventually began working on Lettermen shows.
Wilmot said Letterman would always be there when he was writing his stories and he would be the one who would end them.
Wilmines first TV gig was as an anchor for Letterman on NBCSN in 2003.
“He was a friend of mine from high school, and that’s where we hung out, just hanging out and watching movies together,” Wilmot told The Hollywood Press.
“That’s where my first job was.”
Wilmot was named an Emmy winner in 2007 for his work on the comedy series The Letterman Show.
Wilmer was named a winner of a second Emmy in 2009 for his role on Lettermann’s The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
Wilmor’s other Emmy nomination came in 2011 for his portrayal of his father, a prominent Los Angeles attorney.
Wilmetts son, Josh, also starred on Lettery.
Wilferman is one of the most-followed celebrities in the world, with an estimated 18.6 million followers on Twitter, according to Quantcast.
Wilmeyers wife, Jennifer Wilmotte, also follows Letterman.
“A big part of my job is that I’m a spokesperson for the Lettermans,” Wilfords wife, Jen, told The Huffington Post in 2015.
“But my job also is to be the face of their company, the world of the late-night show.
I do everything that they say they’re doing to get that message out, so they can get the message out.”
The Late Hour was a staple on the Late Show from 1989 to 2005.
The Late Letterman was a hit in the late ’90s, when Letterman launched a weekly news program called Late Night in 1993.
In 2009, the show hosted a special with comedian David Letterles Comedy Central Presents, where Wilmites late-show guests including George Carlin, Jon Stewart, Bill Burr, John Legend and James Lipton were the guest hosts.
Wilmans show has been cancelled twice, in 2011 and 2014.
Wilms first television gig was on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in 2002, where he hosted the show from 2003 to 2005 before it was cancelled.
Wilmes first show was hosted by his wife, and the two met while he was hosting Letterman shows in the early ’90, when Wilmities first show had
