Bayside Furnings to acquire New York-based luxury boutique from Kohl’s

The Baysides, a luxury boutique chain that focuses on design, is looking to acquire Kohls from Kohls of America Inc. in a deal valued at about $500 million.
The purchase is subject to regulatory approvals, according to people familiar with the matter.
Kohlers said in a statement on Monday that it is in talks with Baysiders management and has no immediate plans to do so.
The chain will retain its headquarters in downtown Brooklyn and is considering locations in Los Angeles and Dallas, people familiar in those markets said.
The company has said it would keep its corporate headquarters in the city, but is exploring opportunities to expand.
Baysides has been one of the most highly regarded luxury brands in the United States.
It has more than 800 stores, more than 2,000 stores of online stores and more than 30 stores of department stores.
It also has its own retail chain, which has more stores than any other chain in the U.S. and is valued at more than $8 billion.
Kohls bought a controlling stake in Baysided in 2010.
