I’ve been talking to him and he said he was ready to go on the holiday and if it’s going well then I’m going to go ahead and buy it,” Mr Bailey said.
He said the buyer had told him he was looking for a place to stay in Brisbane.
Mr Bailey said he did not know the buyer’s brother.
“He said he had a job in Brisbane, and he was interested in a holiday and he wanted a place for his family to stay,” he said.
“I said, ‘Well, that’s not going to happen, you need to look at other options, and we have no water’.”
He had said he wanted the house to be in a safe area.
“It’s not a big house.
It’s not big like a house that you can buy in the CBD and have water in it, but it’s not an emergency room in the back.
It has to be a place where you can park your car, you can go outside and go to the shops.”
Mr Bailey sold the home in July, but had to sell the home and move to Queensland after being informed it would not be sold within two months.
He sold the property to the buyer, who is currently staying in Townsville.
“The buyer is a lovely, quiet, down to earth guy and he came and paid a little bit of money, and I didn’t realise he’d gone on holiday and bought the house and he hasn’t come back,” Mr Bailey said.
The buyer has not responded to questions about the property.
